Congratulations to West Islip flag football player Ashlyn Murphy, who was recently recognized by the National Football Foundation during the inaugural Scholar Athlete Awards Ceremony at Stone Bridge Country Club. Ashlyn had an unweighted grade point average of 96 and scored 1320 on the SAT exam. She was one of the team’s captains, earned All-Division honors and served as president of the West Islip High School Student Senate.
