Business and Marketing Honor Society Welcomes New Members thumbnail259213

On May 13, 22 business education students from West Islip High School were formally inducted into the New York State Business and Marketing Honor Society by chapter advisers Frank Franzone and Patricia Morgigno. Parents, teachers and administration were in attendance to share in this honor. Inductees were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement in business education and excellence in the areas of personal character, leadership and community service.

The West Islip High School chapter of the NYSBMHS works toward fostering and recognizing leadership skills and character development, assisting members in growing morally and socially by promoting and encouraging an interest in the business industry and encouraging member involvement in community service.

Keynote speaker and West Islip High School Transition Coordinator Ryan Vollmuth addressed and motivated the inductees by promoting hard work and sharing his insight on transitioning into the business industry. As a transition coordinator, Mr. Vollmuth works collaboratively with school staff to determine individual students’ needs within the school and community setting to develop an appropriate transitional plan to remove any identified barriers to learning. As a member of the West Islip Industry Advisory Board, Mr. Vollmuth mentors business education students on their path to college, career and community readiness.
