Fifth grade students from Manetuck Elementary School traveled to Oquenock Elementary School to meet their pen pals in person after spending the school year building connections through the program.

On June 16, students gathered for a special visit where they finally met their pen pals face-to-face. The students enjoyed time together outdoors, shared lunch and strengthened the friendships they had developed through their letters and messages throughout the year.

The experience provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect beyond the classroom while celebrating the friendships they created. It also helped students feel more comfortable and familiar as they prepare to come together at the middle school next year.
