Little Lions Preschool
Little Lions Preschool Program @ West Islip High School
The Family & Consumer Science Department at WIHS hosts the Little Lions Preschool (note this is different from District Pre-K). The purpose of Little Lions is to provide a well-rounded educational experience for children to learn, grow, and form friendships while providing an opportunity for high school students enrolled in child study classes to work directly with young children. A typical day will consist of circle time, centers, storytime, art, music, snack, and play. We focus on helping the child grow and develop physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally, giving them foundational skills to help them prepare to be in the classroom setting.
The program takes place October - May on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at West Islip High School.
