Five West Islip Students Commit to Collegiate Athletics

West Islip High School is proud to announce that five additional senior student-athletes from the Class of 2026 have committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Congratulations to Caitlin McNamee, ice hockey, Merrimack College; Peyton Bianca, lacrosse, Bridgeport University, Jovan Brewster, basketball, St. Joseph’s University; William DeWitt, swimming, Hamilton College; and Michael Hazelton, lacrosse, Wesleyan University.
These newest commitments, combined with the 17 student-athletes who announced their college decisions earlier this fall, highlight the remarkable accomplishments of the Class of 2026 and the strength of the school’s athletic programs.
The student-athletes have demonstrated dedication, perseverance and leadership both on the field and in the classroom throughout their high school careers. Their commitment to continuing athletics at the next level reflects years of hard work and support from coaches, teachers, families and teammates.
The West Islip community congratulates all of the student-athletes on this exciting milestone and wishes them continued success as they begin the next chapter of their academic and athletic journeys in higher education.
