West Islip, Hauppauge Team Up for Annual Cornhole Fundraiser

The West Islip Union Free School District and the Hauppauge Union Free School District will join together for the third annual District Cornhole Tournament on April 28. This highly anticipated event will bring together members of the West Islip and Hauppauge school communities for an evening of friendly competition, camaraderie and charitable giving.
The tournament will be held from 4-7 p.m., with games beginning promptly at 4:30 p.m., at Great South Bay Brewery in Bay Shore. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, supporting veterans and service members who have sacrificed for our country.
Teams from both districts are invited to participate, with a donation of $100 per team ($50 per participant). Each district will field up to 22 teams, creating an exciting and spirited atmosphere for players and spectators alike.
“This event is a wonderful example of our community coming together for a meaningful cause,” said West Islip Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Romanelli. “It not only fosters connection and school spirit between districts but also provides an opportunity to support the brave men and women who have served our country. We are proud to continue this tradition and make a positive impact.” This event has raised more than $15,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.
