Third Graders Blend Creativity with Curriculum

On March 3, third grade students from Bayview Elementary School embarked on a creative and exciting field trip experience at the West Islip firehouse.
The third graders are studying how people learn in space as part of their arts and letters module. With the guidance of Liz Pancamo from The Color Pallet, an art studio located in Lindenhurst, students used their artistic talents to create space-themed paintings that connect directly to their current learning module. Through this hands-on experience, students blended creativity with curriculum, exploring big ideas about space while expressing their understanding through art.
Each student created a unique piece of artwork to take home, serving as both a keepsake and a reflection of their learning. The trip was a wonderful example of learning in action, where art, literacy and curiosity come together to inspire young minds.
