Paul J. Bellew Elementary School continued an annual tradition of a pumpkin carving and decorating contest for its 17th year. With 273 pumpkin entries this year, the pumpkin designs get more creative each season.
Created by Paul J. Bellew students and their families, the pumpkins are proudly on display in the school’s lobby for all to see, and each is given a number. With categories from scariest to most creative, students can vote on their favorite creation, and 10 winners are crowned Best in Show at the end of October. Paul J. Bellew collects more than $1,000 each year from the activity for donations to local families during the holiday season.
