Bayview Celebrates P.S. I Love You Day with Spirit Week

Bayview Elementary School celebrated P.S. I Love You Day with a meaningful and spirited P.S. I Love You Day Spirit Week, bringing students and staff together to promote kindness, acceptance and a strong sense of belonging.
Throughout the week, the school community participated in themed spirit days designed to encourage positivity and connection. The week kicked off with “Don’t Sleep on Kindness” (pajama day), followed by “Together We Belong”, where students wore West Islip gear to show school pride. Other themed days included “Be the Light” with beach-inspired attire, “Not All Heroes Wear Capes,” where students dressed as their heroes, first responders or superheroes, and concluded with everyone wearing purple in honor of P.S. I Love You Day on Feb. 13.
As part of the celebration, students read “The Starfish Story,” reflecting on how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Each student created a starfish that was added to a vibrant display wall designed by the fourth grade Character Education Club. The display served as a powerful visual reminder that at Bayview Elementary School, everyone belongs and every act of kindness matters.
