Second graders in Mrs. Burkart and Mrs. Novak’s classes at Bayview Elementary School stepped into the imaginative world of the book “Snowmen at Night” by Caralyn Buehner during a recent literacy activity. After reading the story together, students worked in small groups to brainstorm ideas and collaborate on creative murals depicting what they believe snowmen do after dark. Through teamwork, discussion and artistic expression, they transformed their ideas into vibrant scenes filled with personality and humor. Each mural reflected the students’ creativity while reinforcing important skills such as communication, cooperation and critical thinking. The finished artwork now brightens the hallway and showcases the second graders’ wonderful imaginations and collaborative spirit.
