Smart Schools Investment Plan
The Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA) was passed in November 2014 by a state wide referendum to invest $2.0 billion in New York State schools. The West Islip School District Smart Schools Investment Plan for Phase 1 is designed to:
Upgrade network infrastructure to support high-speed traffic requirements for online productivity and assessments.
Install new wireless equipment and upgrade existing wireless equipment to create a district-wide digital age learning culture.
Working with the West Islip District-wide Technology Committee, and aligned with the District Technology Plan, this investment plan has been drafted to focus this allocation on the Smart Schools Bond Act allowable expenditures that include school connectivity.
