Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR)

In accordance with Education Law §3012-d and the Commissioner’s Regulations, an approved performance evaluation system for building principals and classroom teachers is required by all districts in New York State. The evaluation system is designed to measure teacher and principal effectiveness based on performance, including measures of student achievement and evidence of educator effectiveness in meeting New York State teacher or school leader standards.
