The 2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten Lottery will take place tomorrow - Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. The lottery will be broadcast live via a YouTube link posted to the homepage of the district website: www.wi.k12.ny.us.

The 2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten Program will be capped at 224 students. The number of students registered to be part of the lottery process exceeds the cap. Therefore, the first 224 students picked via the lottery process will be placed in the 2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten Program at South Shore Children’s Center of West Islip (SSCC). Then, the remaining students' names will be selected for the waitlist in the order in which their names are picked. The final number of Pre-K students included in the lottery process will be announced at the start of tomorrow’s lottery, as all registrations will be finalized at that time.

Please note that there are a few sets of twins registered for the lottery. It is the district's position to not separate twins in this situation. Therefore, if the name of one twin is pulled during the lottery, their sibling will automatically be placed with them.

It is the district’s intent to inform all parents of their child/children’s placement at SSCC or on the waitlist by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow via ParentSquare.

Additional information in regard to the lottery process will be shared at the start of the lottery tomorrow. A video of the lottery will be posted to the district’s YouTube site @wiufsdyoutube3402 for parents/guardians to view at their convenience.
