Students and staff throughout West Islip School District celebrated College Awareness Day on May 22. Throughout the district, students, teachers and staff dressed in their college shirts and celebrated post-secondary plans. Elementary and middle school students learned about options post-graduation – including college, military or specialty training – as well as the importance of being a lifelong learner. Members of the Class of 2024 gathered in the gymnasium for a group photo in their college shirts. Seniors wrote their name and college on a pawprint. All the pawprints were included on the 2024 Decision Day banner.
