Congratulations to the following student musicians from West Islip High School, Beach Street Middle School and Udall Road Middle School, who represented the district’s music program at the 42nd annual Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s Day of Tuba: Alex Sirotic, Nolan Fisher, Bentley Syrok, Aleanna Rocha Wood, Giuliana Accomando, Luke Jablonski, Zachary McGrath, Richard Wilson, Nicolas Esposito, Sydney Krowles and Laveeza Malik. The event took place at Central Islip High School with various clinics, rehearsals, exhibits, vendors, master classes and a concert featuring approximately 200 tuba and euphonium players in the massed ensemble. Special recognition is given to West Islip High School musician Zachary McGrath, who was selected to perform with the SCMEA All-County Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble.
