The Smart Schools Bond Act (SSBA) was passed in November 2014 by a state
wide referendum to invest $2.0 billion in New York State schools. The
West Islip School District Smart Schools Investment Plan for Phase 1 is
- Upgrade network infrastructure to support high-speed traffic
requirements for online productivity and assessments.
- Install new wireless equipment and upgrade existing wireless
equipment to create a district-wide digital age learning culture.
- Working with the West Islip District-wide Technology Committee,
and aligned with the District Technology Plan, this investment plan
has been drafted to focus this allocation on the Smart Schools Bond
expenditures that include school connectivity.
