International BaccalaureateThe International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The program encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

West Islip began to offer this prestigious and rigorous program in September 2010. Students may choose to enroll in individual courses in order to obtain an IB Certificate, or the entire program, in pursuit of the IB Diploma.
